BBC apologise to Goldney Hall over ‘binge drinking’ claim

The BBC has apologised after Goldney Hall students claimed they were misrepresented in a TV news item about heavy drinking. Viewers saw students ‘strawpedo-ing’ a bottle of alcohol in a story that reported on the rise of binge drinking, happy hours, and alcohol deals.

Vote: the future of Bar 100’s artwork to be decided

Upfest, a Bristol-based street art organisation has recently been commissioned to redesign Bar 100 in the Student Union building at the decision of the SU Committee.  Starting this week, students will be invited to vote as to whether the artwork remains, is whitewashed, or replaced by different artists.

Drama department: Foundation Chairs in the spotlight

Two long-standing professors in the Department of Drama, Theatre, Film, and Television have been appointed as co-foundation Chairs of Drama in recognition of their outstanding international scholarship in their individual disciplines. 
Professor of Theatre Martin White and Professor of Film Sarah Street started in their new roles at the beginning of August this year.
